BBB's Commitment To Online Security
Physical, electronic and managerial procedures have been employed to safeguard
the security and integrity of personal information. Billing information is
encrypted whenever transmitted or received online. Personal information is
accessible only by staff or volunteers designated to handle online complaints
or requests. All BBB agents and contractors with access to personal information
obtained on the BBB web sites are also bound to adhere to this policy. To
protect the security of information supplied by businesses applying for
participation in the BBBOnLine privacy program and members using the
secured access log-in area, businesses are provided user names and passwords to
access their information.
Personal Information that BBB May Collect Online
As part of the membership and complaint processes, the BBB collects many of the
following types of personal information: names, postal and e-mail addresses,
phone and fax numbers, billing information, vehicle information such as vehicle
identification numbers and complaint information. The BBB may also collect
business information from sole proprietorships that apply for membership and
for program participation, some of which could constitute personal information,
as well as personal information from individuals acting solely in their
business capacity.
The BBB does not collect or maintain information from those actually known to
be under the age of 13, and no part of our sites are structured to attract
anyone under the age of 13.
How BBB Uses Personal Information Collected Online
Unless you consent, we will not use your personal information for any purpose
other than that for which it is submitted. We use personal information to reply
to inquiries, handle complaints, provide operational notices and in program
record-keeping. We also process billing and business requests related to
program participation. At certain points where personal information is
collected on our site, there may be a box where you may indicate you would like
to be on a list to receive information about other BBB programs and services
and about ways to support the BBB and the BBB Foundation/BBB Wise Giving
Alliance. This election box only appears in places where the department
collecting personal information maintains such lists. At any time you can add
or remove your name from a BBB list by contacting us at
webmaster@arizonabbb.org.
How Your Information May Be Shared
In order to process a complaint, the BBB may send the complaint to the BBB
where the company complained about is headquartered, handle it itself, or refer
the complaint to another appropriate organization for handling. Depending on
the type of complaint, the BBB will also transfer complaints to the company
complained about. Further, when we receive a request or inquiry that is out of
our service area and must be handled by another BBB, we forward the request or
inquiry to the appropriate BBB. By completing a complaint form or sending us a
request or inquiry, you are allowing us to forward your information to the
appropriate BBB, if necessary, and potentially also to the proper business.
Without submission of the requested information, the BBB will not be able to
share your information and process your complaint.
We never sell or rent your personal information.
The BBB may also release personal information to appropriate governmental
authorities under the following circumstances:
-
Where release is required by law (for example, a subpoena) or regulation, or is
requested by a government agency conducting investigations or proceedings;
-
Where our records indicate a company may be engaged in fraudulent activity or
other deceptive practices that a governmental agency should be made aware of;
-
Where warranted by a company's failure to participate in the advertising
self-regulatory process or respond to an online privacy complaint, or where a
company fails to honor the recommendations of the National Advertising
Division, Children's Advertising Review Unit, National Advertising Review Board
or of BBBOnLine's Privacy Program Review Service; or
-
Where your communication suggests possible harm to others.
Help Us Keep Your Personal Information Accurate
If your personal information changes or you would like to review the personal
information we may have on file, please e-mail us with the new information or
your review request at
webmaster@arizonabbb.org. Let us also know the department or BBB
program that led to your submission of personal information so we may
efficiently locate your information.
Computer Tracking and Cookies
Our web sites are not set up to track, collect or distribute personal
information not entered by visitors. Our site logs do generate certain kinds of
non-identifying site usage data, such as the number of hits and visits to our
sites. This information is used for internal purposes by technical support
staff to provide better services to the public and may also be provided to
others, but again, the statistics contain no personal information and cannot be
used to gather such information.
Our web sites also recognize the online site where a visitor "clicked-to-check"
on the BBBOnLine seal of a BBBOnLine program participant, but we
cannot identify the visitor or the visitor's address. Site information is used
to confirm participation in the BBBOnLine program, and may be used to
advise participants of the numbers of visitors who come to our BBBOnLine
site from their sites. No personal information is collected.
A cookie is a small amount of data that is sent to your browser from a Web
server and stored on your computer's hard drive. BBB uses non-identifying
cookies to provide easier site navigation and access to forms. You can still
use the BBB sites if your browser is set to reject cookies. Our cookies do not
generate personal data, do not read personal data from your machine and are
never tied to anything that could be used to identify you.
Problems or Complaints with CBBB Privacy Policy
If you have a complaint about CBBB compliance with this privacy policy, you may
contact us at webmaster@bbb.org.
If we are unable to resolve your complaint to your satisfaction, you may elect
to proceed with BBBOnLine's Privacy Policy Review Service through the
National Council of Better Business Bureau’s by completing the
complaint form.

Terms and Conditions of Website Use
Hyperlinking
The following organizations may link to the CBBB web site, www.bbb.org, without
prior written CBBB approval:
-
Government agencies;
-
Search engines;
-
News organizations;
-
Online directory distributors when they list the BBB in the directory may link
to the BBB web site in the same manner as they hyperlink to the web sites of
other listed businesses; and
-
CBBB national members except soliciting non-profit organizations, charity
shopping malls, and charity fundraising groups which may not hyperlink to BBB’s
or CBBB's web site.
These organizations may link to BBB's home page, to publications or to other
web site information so long as the link: (a) is not in any way misleading; (b)
does not falsely imply sponsorship, endorsement or approval of the linking
party and its products or services; and (c) fits within the context of the
linking party's site.
The BBB may consider and approve in its sole discretion other link requests
from the following types of organizations:
-
commonly-known consumer and/or business information sources such as Chambers of
Commerce, American Automobile Association, AARP and Consumers Union;
-
dot.com community sites;
-
associations or other groups representing charities, including charity giving
sites,
-
online directory distributors;
-
internet portals;
-
accounting, law and consulting firms whose primary clients are businesses; and
-
educational institutions and trade associations.
BBB will approve link requests from these organizations if BBB determines that:
(a) the link would not reflect unfavorably on the BBB and its members (for
example, trade associations or other organizations representing inherently
suspect types of business, such as work-at-home opportunities, shall not be
allowed to link); (b)the organization does not have an unsatisfactory record
with the BBB; (c) the benefit to the BBB from the visibility associated with
the hyperlink outweighs the absence of BBB membership; and (d) where the link
is in the context of general resource information or is otherwise consistent
with editorial content in a newsletter or similar product furthering the
mission of the organization.
These organizations may link to BBB's home page, to publications or to other
web site information so long as the link: (a) is not in any way misleading; (b)
does not falsely imply sponsorship, endorsement or approval of the linking
party and it products or services; and (c) fits within the context of the
linking party's site.
If you are among the organizations listed in paragraph 2 (#2) above and are
interested in linking to www.arizonabbb.org, you must notify BBB by sending an
e-mail to info@arizonabbb.org.
Please include your name, your organization name, contact information (such as
a phone number and/or e-mail address) as well as the URL of your site, a list
of any URLs from which you intend to link to our web site, and a list of the
URL(s) on our site to which you would like to link. Allow 2-3 weeks for a
response.
Please also read the following terms and conditions applying to use of our web
site. Approved organizations may hyperlink to www.arizonabbb.org as follows:
-
By use of the name "The Better Business Bureau of Central/Northern Arizona"; or
-
By use of the uniform resource locator (web address) being linked to; or
-
By use of any other description of the BBB web site or material being linked to
that makes sense within the context and format of content on the linking
party's site.
-
No use of the BBB torch logo or other trademark of the BBB or CBBB will be
allowed for linking absent a trademark license agreement from the trademark
holder.
Framing
Without prior approval and express written permission, you may not create
frames around BBB's web pages or use other techniques that alter in any way the
visual presentation or appearance of our web site.

Content Liability
BBB shall have no responsibility or liability for any content appearing on your
web site. You agree to indemnify and defend BBB against all claims arising out
of or based upon your web site. No link(s) may appear on any page on your web
site or within any context containing content or materials that may be
interpreted as libelous, obscene or criminal, or which infringes, otherwise
violates, or advocates the infringement or other violation of, any third party
rights.
Reservation of Rights
BBB reserves the right at any time and in its sole discretion to request that
you remove all links or any particular link to BBB's web site from your site.
You agree to immediately remove all links to BBB's web site upon such request.
BBB also reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions and its linking
policy at any time. By continuing to link to the BBB web site, you agree to be
bound to and abide by these linking terms and conditions.
What You Should Know About Links We Have On Our Web Site
From time to time, we may, with permission from the site owner, decide to link
to web sites that we determine may be of interest to our visitors. These web
sites may offer educational, governmental or other resources or may be owned or
controlled by other third parties.
We are not responsible for the content of any linked site, any link(s)
contained in any linked site, or any changes or updates to the information
contained in such sites. BBB provides links to third party sites only as a
convenience and the inclusion of any such link on our site does not imply BBB's
endorsement of either the site, the organization operating such site, or any
products or services of that organization. A visit to any site or page from our
web site via any such link is done entirely at your own risk.
We strongly recommend reading any Standard Terms and Conditions, Privacy
Policy, Disclaimers or other notifications that may be found on any such third
party web sites. Under no circumstances will BBB be held responsible or liable,
directly or indirectly, for any loss or damage that is caused or alleged to
have been caused in connection with the use of, or reliance on, any content,
goods or services available on any other site. Should you find any link on our
web site or any linked web site objectionable for any reason, you may send us a
request to remove the link from our web site to
webmaster@arizonabbb.org. BBB will consider all such requests but shall
have no obligation to remove any links or respond.

Trademark Information
Council of Better Business Bureaus, Inc. Trademarks Better Business
Bureau, BBB, BBB AUTO LINE, BBBOnLine, and the BBB torch, BBBOnLine
and BBB CARE logos are federally registered service marks owned by the Council
of Better Business Bureaus, Inc. These marks may be used, with certain
restrictions, by Better Business Bureaus and eligible companies participating
in Better Business Bureau programs under a license agreement.
It is CBBB policy to take action against all unauthorized use of its marks
.
The Council of Better Business Bureaus, Inc. owns a number of trademarks,
including, among others, the names Better Business Bureau and BBBOnLine,
and the BBB torch and BBB CARE logos. Any use of these marks by others must be
with the express permission of the Council.
In most instances, when we advise a company that it is misusing or infringing
on our trademarks, the company readily complies with our request to modify its
advertising or web site. From time to time, however, the Council has had to sue
infringers. The Council has been successful in all litigation it has undertaken
against infringers. We also try to advise the public about companies that
continue without authorization to use our marks. The Internet has made this
easier.
Violators
We now have a list on our web site of companies that do not have our permission
to use our marks and have refused to comply with repeated requests to stop
using them. Please note that this list does not include every company misusing
or infringing on our marks, but only those we have contacted many times about
their misuse or infringement. Below are companies that are falsely conveying an
affiliation with or sponsorship by the Better Business Bureau through
unauthorized use of BBB trademarks. These businesses have ignored numerous and
repeated requests to modify their advertising or web site by eliminating use of
BBB trademarks. For more specific information about each company, including any
existing BBB complaints, please contact
us at 602.264.1721. Know someone who is using our logo but not a
member?
